More Evidence Based Science Web Sites

The following is a list of additional web sites and blogs that are operated by credible mainstream scientists and science minded individuals. The list includes a brief description of the materials that are available at each site. All of these sites arrive at the same conclusion. There is no significant evidence to date for a link between EMF in any of its many forms and health.

Bad Science
The web site and blog Bad Science is maintained by Dr. Ben Goldacre. Ben is a medical doctor who writes a weekly column entitled Bad Science for the Guardian newspaper in the UK. Ben has written about 20 excellent blogs on the subject of electrosensitivity. One of his best was a debunking of a BBC Panorama "documentary" on WiFi. This BBC program was an alarmist and unscientific account about Wi-Fi networks and how they are supposedly harming the health of children. This is what Goldacre had to say about it: "this documentary was the lowest, most misleading scaremongering I have seen in a very long time." It is similar in many respects to a program on Wi-Fi that aired on Radio-Canada. Like the Radio-Canada program, the Panorama program was criticized by the BBC Complaints Unit. Goldacre posted another excellent piece about the findings by the BBC Complaints Unit.

Science Blog Postings
Here are a couple of good postings at sciencebogs.com.

Cell Phones and Cancer:
This posting by well known science blogger David Gorski (also known as Orac) contains an excellent commentary on two recent studies on cell phones and cancer. Cell phones and cancer again, or: Oh no! My cell phone's going to give me cancer! (Revisited)

Cell Phone Warning Debunked
. This is a posting by Orac, that comments on the alarmist statement issued by Dr. Ronald Herberman of the Pittsburgh Cancer Institute who warned his staff to limit their use of cell phones because of cancer risk. This blog reviews the large body of scientific research that has found little or no evidence of cancer risk.
Oh no! My cell phone's going to kill me.

Fraud Charges on EMF Research
This is a posting by Janet Stemwedet (nom de blog Dr. Free-Ride) about fraud charges against a group of scientists whose papers offered evidence of DNA damage in tissue cultures exposed to cell phone EMF radiation.
Cell Phones, DNA damage, and questionable data.
